September 6 | The Dawes Arboretum: Caring For Trees, Nature & History
Speaker: Beth Spieles from Dawes Arboretum
Dawes is a beautiful photographic background in which to enjoy nature. It is also an internationally respected conservation organization. Delve into the fascinating history of the Arboretum, how you can fully enjoy it today, and opportunities to nurture your own care for nature.

Beth Spieles made the transition from Dawes Arboretum volunteer to staff in 2007. In her work with the education team as the interpretive coordinator, she creates enriching experiences through interpretive signage, tours and programs. She holds degrees in natural resource interpretation and biology. Beth and her husband Doug are the proud owners of an empty nest in Granville.

September 13 | Environmental Justice
Speaker: Danyelle Phelps, Director, Enterprise Environment & Operations Sustainability - Owens Corning
Danyelle Phelps has spent nearly three decades working in manufacturing, helping companies protect people, safeguard natural resources, and build more sustainable practices. She holds a B.S. in Forest and Natural Resource Engineering from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment. Her work centers on helping organizations operate responsibly and with care for people and the planet. On Sunday she will speak about Environmental Justice and why it matters for communities of faith.
