HELPING OTHERS
St. Luke's is a caring community with compassion for all of God's children — and we are all God's children. Our special focus is feeding the hungry.
MISSION
At St. Luke’s, outreach means lending a helping hand to others in need. We believe we are hands of christ, bring light and life into the world, especially feeding the hungry.
A St. Luke’s hallmark is our commitment to service. Our external ministries team supports our members as we move out into the community, serving as Christ’s hands in the world. These teams help support the Market Street Pantry, which supplies food to the hungry; the Granville Turkey Trot, our annual Thanksgiving Fun Run that raises considerable funds for the Licking County Food Pantry
MARKET STREET PANTRY
Twice a week, St. Luke’s offers food and friendship to Licking County neighbors at the Market Street Pantry, located in downtown Newark.
Market Street Pantry is under the umbrella of the Food Pantry Network of Licking County. (FPNLC)
We serve about 180 families/week, 750 families each month, and more than 8640 families a year. And the needs of our community are growing.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers are the heart of Market Street Pantry. As an MSP volunteer, you can greet and serve our customers, stock shelves, enter data, and transport food.
If you want to volunteer, we have a place for you! You can volunteer as little as an hour once a month, or several times a week.
Volunteers serve during pantry open hours: 8:30 -11:30 a.m., Wednesday and Saturday mornings. They also transport to the MSP:

Eggs from Trillium Egg Farm in Croton on Fridays

Thank you for your interest in serving our hungry friends and neighbors!
St. Luke’s Church has a long history of serving those who experience food insecurity. We helped to establish the first food pantry in Licking County, which has grown into the Food Pantry Network of Licking County (FPNLC). St. Luke’s launched the Market Street Pantry in 2013 and the Granville Turkey Trot in 2004, with all proceeds going to FPNLC.
