March 1
The human condition is wired to respond in different ways when faced with physical or psychological threats or conditions, we are often let to “Fight, Flight, or Freeze,” but what if we equipped ourselves to identify where our comfort zones ie in response to concerning condtitions? Jackie Summers notes four categories we might find ourselves in: Helper, Advocate, Organizer, and Rebel. The right to be gives us 5Ds to help us: Distract, Delegate, Document, Delay, and Direct. Come and learn where you might find yourself and your risk tolerance, so you can turn your love into action.

Increased polarization in our country ca be deconstructed if we equip ourselves with the tools of civil discourse. How might we come together and work toward understanding one another in ways that may promote positive and healthy change in systemic was. Ivan Smith, J.D., will lead a conversation on how to engage in dialogue across differences. Come learn and practice your conversation skills in a loving and brave space!

Putting It Together: Part One
We have spent the past several weeks learning how we might use our our gifts to live into our Baptismal Vows. Join an activity and discussion that takes your learning to the next step. Equip and empower yourself to move into our community based on your risk assessment and learnings.

Community refuge & immigration sevices (CRIS) has been working “to help refugees and immigrants reach safety and stability, sustain self-suffiiency, and achieve successful integration into the central ohio community,” (criisohio.org) come learn how we might partner with CRIS to love our neighbors.

March 29
Putting It Together: Part Two
Now that you know about yourself and how your gifts may be used within the community, let us talk about what the Holy Spirit is saying to St. Luke’s. How might we move from “thoughts and prayers” to love in action? How might god be calling us as a church to move. into our community, nation, and world? Come and be a part of a wider discussion about baptismal vows, your gifts, and a world in need of your light.
