Words From The Warden

Our property and grounds team has consistently worked hard to keep the church looking its best throughout the season. Special thanks go to Dave Procter, who, with help from others, including lawn bot Garrett Hinton, has ensured that the church grounds remain attractive and well-maintained. Their efforts in mowing and pruning have been evident all year.

In addition to regular upkeep, the memorial garden received special attention this season. Overgrown perennials and weeds were thoroughly removed, resulting in a clean and inviting space that was especially appreciated by a recent wedding party.

Bill Wilken and Keith Myers have remained dedicated to upholding the appearance and condition of both the church and the Parish House. This commitment is reflected in several exterior enhancements made to the Parish House, including reglazing, caulking, and painting the windows overlooking the Rector’s office. Plans are also in place for further window remediation, as all Parish House windows will need to be replaced within the next 12 months due to their deteriorating condition. The process of gathering window replacement estimates is underway.

Additionally, St. Luke’s vestry member and Hall of Fame Coach, Michael Caravana, is actively working on painting the entry door, contributing to the overall improvement of the Parish House.

Keith took charge of designing and supervising the installation of a new handrail at the front of the church. To create a more welcoming entrance, the porch was soft-washed, enhancing its appearance for all who enter.

Repairs have also been addressed, with Phil, our master carpenter, replacing rotted corners on the church building. Furthermore, a new refrigerator has been purchased to replace the old, malfunctioning unit, ensuring continued functionality of the Undercroft.

Peace,
Henry Zaborniak, Sr. Warden
