Words From The Warden

St. Luke’s community has experienced meaningful progress: Sunday worship attendance is steadily increasing, our Market Street Pantry volunteers are assisting more than twice as many individuals each week compared to last year, and the building and grounds continue to improve. We regularly host an educational coffee hour, along with occasional social gatherings. This fall, we will introduce a series of musical concerts in the sanctuary, feature a monthly Denison quintet during services, maintain our commitment to a monthly service at Otterbein, and welcome the Granville High School Steel Drum Band to Opera House Park as both a congregational event and outreach opportunity. Additionally, the new Canterbury Club for Denison, COTC, and Newark OSU students is taking shape.

Recently, someone questioned whether our pace might be too ambitious. My perspective is that every initiative results directly from your feedback—following Pastor Julia’s survey, you expressed interest in enhancing the music program, adult education, youth engagement, fellowship, outreach, growth in membership, and spiritual development. Each endeavor is purposeful and carefully considered.

As Churchill once said, “never have so many owed so much to so few.” By remaining committed to our vision and baptismal vows, I believe St. Luke’s community can inspire similar admiration. Thank you all for your dedication and service.

Peace,
Henry Zaborniak, Sr. Warden
