Season Of Creation 2025

Dear St. Luke’s Family,
On June 23, 2025, Rt. Rev. Kristin Uffelman White shared a letter with clergy and vestry wardens regarding the Season of Creation. Bishop White wrote,

Clergy and vestry leaders,
The Diocese of Southern Ohio is committed to our call to care for God’s creation. To that end, I write to encourage your engagement in the upcoming Season of Creation – September 1-October 4, 2025. As part of this annual observance, I have authorized the use of special liturgies prepared for the Season of Creation.”

St. Luke’s will draw from these liturgical offerings for our services from September 14 to October 5. The liturgy will draw on Holy Scripture, featuring Creation-themed messages, readings from Eco-Theologians, and prayers from our siblings in Christ throughout the Anglican Communion.

My prayer is that a time of focus on Creation may help us be mindful of our duty to be stewards of the gift that God gave us and lead us into behaviors that care for Creation.

To close our Season of Creation time, Jerusalem and Nathan Greer, Co-Directors of the Procter Camp and Conference Center, will be here to preach and lead Coffee: Grounds for Discussion. The Procter Center is a working farm as well as a camp and conference center, incorporating many positive ecological practices into its daily operations.

I am looking forward to this intentional time.

God’s Peace,
Julia+
