When preacher relocates to a small, hardscrabble town on the Ohio River, he’s surprised by the poor treatment he gets from the locals but, unlike his son, Jason (Jimmy Stewart), bears it quietly. Against his father’s wishes, Jason aspires to become a doctor. When the Civil War breaks out, he finds success as a surgeon but is estranged from his family, until a nearly miraculous intervention occurs.
 
As usual, we’ll gather at the Parish House at 6:30 pm and begin the movie at 7:00 pm. Bring your own snacks to share.
