New Volunteer Opportunity...

With Market Street Pantry

In late April the Garden for All reached out to me and said that they had lots of lettuce and radishes that were ready to be picked for the Market Street Pantry. I drove to the Johnstown farm and picked up 4 bags of beautiful radishes. The following week I picked up 75 pounds of fresh lettuce and last week I picked up 4 different types of lettuce weighing about 95 pounds for the Market Street Pantry. Every bit of produce was taken by our customers!

Market Street Pantry is looking for several people to alternate picking up the produce at the Johnstown farm and bringing it back to the pantry. On Wednesday the volunteer(s) would pick up black crates of produce and bring them directly to the pantry.  We would put the produce right out on the tables for our Wednesday customers to take.

On Friday, the volunteer(s) would pick up at the Johnstown farm and bring the produce back to the pantry but would have to load the items into refrigerators and sometimes bag certain types of lettuce. This would be ready for the Saturday opening.

Please let Dagny Gelormo know if you would like to help with this and or more information.
