Movie Night In April
Conclave | Friday, April 25 | 6:30 pm | Parish House
Come, and bring your friends, to the Parish House for yet another great movie. This time out, we will feature a 2024 Academy Award Nominee for Best Picture, “CONCLAVE” directed by Edward Berger, and starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, and Isabella Rossellini. A well-crafted thriller, it’s an entirely fictionalized accounting of what plausibly might unfold when our era’s College of Catholic Cardinals next gather in the Vatican to elect our present-century’s newest Pontiff.
We’ll gather at 6:30 p.m. and start the movie at 7:00 pm. Bring your own snacks. NOTE: Any white-smoke-producing combustibles you may wish to bring in with you, will be subject to inspection and possible confiscation by Parish House Authorities prior to your admission. LOL
Movie Nights In May
Come, and bring your friends, for any (or all) of the three movie nights happening in May at the Parish House.
First, on Friday, May 2, 2025, we’ll show “A Complete Unknown”, directed by James Mangold, starring Timothée Chamlamet. Nominated for Best Picture of 2024, it’s a bio-pic about Bob Dylan, covering his early career: first emerging, in 1961, as a phenomenon within the Greenwich Village folk scene — up to and including — his controversial “going electric” at the ‘65 Newport Folk Festival.
A week later, on Friday, May 9, 2025, we will show “Rolling Thunder Review - A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese” which documents — with live concert footage — Bob and his merry band of troubadours on tour across America ten years later — in 1975.
Finally, on Friday, May 16, 2025, we’ll show Academy Award Winner Denzel Washington, starring in “The Hurricane.” It’s the true, ultimately triumphant struggle of Reuben “Hurricane” Carter, the middleweight contender who, in the prime of his career, found himself wrongfully accused of murder and imprisoned for 20 years.
Each time, we’ll gather at 6:30 p.m. and roll the movie at 7:00 p.m. Bring your own snacks.
