In his presentation for Coffee: Grounds for Conversation, the Rev. Canon Aaron Rogers will share an overview of his role as Canon for Ministry in the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio, highlighting how the diocese supports the discernment, formation, and ongoing development of lay and ordained leaders. He will offer insight into the pathways to ministry, the resources available to congregations, and the ways the diocesan office partners with local communities to cultivate vibrant, faithful leadership. Drawing on his experience in diocesan ministry, Canon Rogers will also reflect on the evolving needs of the Church and invite conversation about how we can together nurture a culture of calling, formation, and mission.
Bio Of Rev. Canon Aaron Rogers
The Rev. Canon Aaron Rogers serves as Canon for Ministry in the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio, where he supports the discernment, formation, and flourishing of lay and ordained leaders across the diocese. He previously served as Missioner for Black Ministries, working to strengthen and advocate for historically Black congregations and communities.
Canon Rogers holds a Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary and a Diploma in Anglican Studies from Virginia Theological Seminary. He is a 2023 Trinity Wall Street Leadership Fellow and a 2019 Engle Institute of Princeton Theological Seminary Preaching Fellow.
He is married to Trina’ Owens-Rogers, and together they are the proud parents of two daughters, Cameron and Olivia.
