Topic: Opportunities To Contribute To The Life Our Diocese & Denomination
Speaker: Canon Katie Forsyth

Join Canon Katie Forsyth to learn about opportunities to contribute to the life of our diocese and denomination through church governance. We’ll consider why it's central to our life as Episcopalians to deliberate together with all orders of ministry. We’ll also take a look at the various governing bodies in our own diocese and pathways to adding our voice to the wider life of our church.

Bio:
Canon Katie Forsyth serves as Canon for Communications and Governance for the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio, a role she’s held since 2024. With Bishop White, she leads the diocese in strategically communicating and living out our mission and vision, overseeing the communications strategy of the organization, seeking out and sharing the stories of our communities and congregations, building cooperation across governing bodies, developing clear processes for diocesan leaders, and inviting lay and clergy leaders into exercising their discipleship through diocesan and churchwide governance.

Prior to joining the staff in Southern Ohio, she served eleven years leading communications and evangelism in the Dioceses of Eastern & Western Michigan (now the Diocese of the Great Lakes). She also serves as a strategic communications consultant with Jula Ayala Harris, President of the House of Deputies and Presiding Officer of The Episcopal Church. She and her fiancé, Anny, live in Cincinnati with their dog, Prudence Fang.
