Wrapping Up The 20th Granville Turkey Trot
A Celebration of Tradition, Community, and Gratitude
Thanksgiving morning marked a milestone for Licking County as we celebrated the 20th Annual Granville Turkey Trot—and what a morning it was! Although the weather gave us its usual seasonal chill, it never stood a chance against the warmth radiating from our volunteers, participants, and spectators. The cold air may have nipped at our noses, but the spirit of the crowd kept the entire event feeling bright, lively, and unmistakably Granville.
From the earliest volunteers who arrived to set up for registration and packet pick up and those preparing the course, to the families bundled up and cheering along Newark-Granville Road, every part of the morning reflected what makes this event so special. We watched runners, walkers, strollers, dogs, a few costumed turkeys, and even Santa Clause hit the pavement with smiles, laughter, and that classic Thanksgiving-morning determination!
This year’s race was more than a milestone—it was a reminder that traditions grow stronger because of the people who show up, year after year. Whether you laced up your shoes, handed out water, directed traffic, or supported from the sidelines, you helped reinforce what the Turkey Trot is all about: community, compassion, and coming together for a cause bigger than ourselves.
We are deeply grateful for everyone who helped make this 20th run such a success. Your generosity fuels the Food Pantry Network of Licking County and ensures that families in our region have food on their tables throughout the year.
Thank you for being part of this cherished Thanksgiving tradition.
Bundle up, stay warm, and we’ll see you next year for the 21st Granville Turkey Trot!
