Coffee: Grounds For Discussion, October 12

Coffee: Grounds for Discussion | October 12
Topic:
Beloved Community | Facilitator: Miriam Willard McKenney

Picture books offer an excellent way to discover, remember, and share our stories. With picture books, we can address challenging topics that are crucial for dismantling racism as we work to repair, heal, and see God in one another. Miriam will share her favorite books and host a conversation about each one. Join us!

Miriam Willard McKenney is a child of God who fiercely loves her husband, David, and their three adult daughters. Miriam felt God’s call to the ministry of librarianship from an early age. After receiving her Master’s in Library Science at the University of Michigan, she practiced librarianship for over 20 years before joining the staff at Forward Movement. Miriam taught Godly Play for several years at her home parish, Calvary Episcopal Church in Cincinnati. She served as youth minister on staff at Calvary for five years. Miriam serves as Missioner for Beloved Community for the Diocese of Southern Ohio. She’s also a professor of children’s literature at Xavier University. Miriam loves to spend time outdoors year-round, as nature has gifts to give us every day.
