Now Seeking Nominations

For Ministers In Our Midst

Some people do things for the collective betterment of our community that are never seen or even known by most of us. And most of them prefer it that way, as ministry is a gift we give not expecting rewards. The Health and Wellness Ministry would like to acknowledge people whose work is often done "behind the scenes" and who do not usually receive public recognition, either for work done for the St. Luke's community or for the wider Licking County community. We want to simply say “Thank you”. Your work is appreciated" as a Minister in our Midst. To that end, we are asking for nominations from the congregation to recognize these unsung heroes. There will not be bands playing or speeches made, simply a card of thanks or even an angel for your pocket to accompany you during your day. If you know of someone who fits the description of a Minister in our Midst, please nominate them by sending their name to Shelly Morehead, with a brief reason for the nomination.

Our most recent members who have been nominated include:

  • Jimi James, for her ongoing leadership in organizing and leading the annual Winter Solstice Healing Service each December, as well as the Spring and Fall Spiritual Nature Walks each year, even with the challenges of the pandemic.

  • Ginny Sharkey, for her enthusiastic embrace of stepping forward and leading the Vestry during a time of great transition, exploring the issue of Covid-19 and our church’s  response, coordinating SWOT exercise for all committees, and being a part of organizing and updating parish finances.

  • Jean Schelhorn, for her in-depth analysis of the financial situation and budget  of St. Luke’s with subsequent recommendations and proposals going forward, including capital improvements and grant proposals. She continues her work as a new member of vestry.
