Health & Wellness Ministry News
After two meetings this summer to envision where our ministry can best serve St. Luke's family, we will be discussing our findings with Fr. Michael at our next regularly scheduled meeting on September 29 after the 11:00 am service in the Parish House. All are welcome to attend!
The Prayer Shawl Ministry continues to meet on the first and third Thursday of each month (October 3 and 24, which is an exception this month). The group meets at 7:00 pm in the Parish House and welcomes anyone who knits, crochets, or does hand stitching who wants to be part of the group who provides throws, lap robes, etc. to those in our St. Luke's family who may be going through a particularly difficult time and need a visual reminder of our support. Also, Janet White, founding member of this group, has a new item to share, prayer pockets, which may appeal to those who do not have the time or desire to commit to a shawl. Come and join the fun! All are welcome!
Dr. Jimi James will once again lead a Fall Spiritual Nature Walk for St. Luke's on Sunday, October 13 at 4:00 pm at the Denison Biological Reserve. Jimi's walks are always a treat as she leads us through observing God's beauty in the season and teaching us about the science of what we see. More details in this newsletter.
Finally, as our children return to school and may be receiving their vaccines, it is also a good time to review vaccines needed for the adult members of the family. Please see the attached flyer and go to cdc.gov for further information.
TIP OF THE MONTH: Vaccines… Adults Need Them Too!
