GRADUATING SENIORS OF ST. LUKE’S: 

Reghan Benschoter, daughter of Lara Benschoter, (St. Luke’s Communications Specialist) will be graduating from Granville High School. Reghan played 3rd base for the GHS Varsity Softball team for 4 years.  She will be attending Waynesburg University, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania and studying Criminal Justice and will play softball for the University. 

Sophie Gelormo, daughter of Mark and Dagny Gelormo, will be graduating from Granville High School with Honors, and will be attending Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio majoring in Marine Biology with a minor in Journalism. Sophie played trombone in the Granville High School Marching Band (5 years), Concert Band (4 years) and was in the Steel Drum Band (5 years). She lettered in Band, Bowling and Academic Achievement. She has been a faithful volunteer for the Granville Ecumenical VBS, the Market Street Pantry and Granville Turkey Trot.  Sophie has been an active Acolyte for St. Luke’s for 9 years. 

Nick Havill, son of Jessen and Beth Havill, will be graduating from Granville High School with Honors.. He is a member of several honors societies including National Honors Society and will earn a Global Scholars diploma.  Nick has been a four-year member of Symphonic choir, a three-year member of Chamber choir, and a two-year member of the a cappella group, Blue Notes. He participated in six theater productions, including three as Lights Chair. Nick attended Ohio State Youth and Government conference for five years culminating in being appointed Secretary of State.  A four-year member of the Granville tennis team, Nick played three years with Varsity, was twice selected by his teammates for the Sportsmanship Award and served as a Captain. He played a leadership role in establishing an Ultimate Frisbee team at GHS on which he has served as a captain for two years. Nick also plays Ultimate for the Columbus Sabers, a U20 club team that will compete in the National Championship in August. 

Nick will be attending Davidson College, Davidson, North Carolina where he plans to study Biology and Chemistry, play on the Ultimate Frisbee team, and continue to pursue music. 

Alexa Minton, daughter of Alan and Joleen Minton, will be graduating from Granville High School with Honors. She was the Student Council Vice President, participated in the Ohio State Youth and Government, Feed the Dream Steering committee, 8 GHS Theater Productions, Chamber and Symphonic Choir and was the Varsity Field Hockey Team Captain.

Alexa plans to attend Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana, double majoring in Metrology and Mathematics and Science Education. She was selected as a 2019-2020 MSEED Scholar and accepted into Valparaiso’s Christ College’s Honors program. 

Thomas Scheetz, son of Mike and Michelann Scheetz, will be graduating from Granville High School where he has consistently been a three-sport athlete participating in football, wrestling and indoor and outdoor track. In football, Thomas was part of the first team from Granville to win a high school playoff game. In Track and Field, he qualified for the Indoor State championship in Indoor track his junior and senior years for the weight throw. Finishing 20th his junior year and 13th his senior year in the State of Ohio, he also finished first in the Central district in the weight throw his senior year.  Thomas finished 2nd in the Discus in the Licking County league his junior year and is in position to match or better his finish in the Licking County league his senior year. 

He has committed to Lake Erie College, Painesville, Ohio, majoring in Criminology with a minor in Biology and plans to be part of the Track and Field team. 

Sophia Tidwell, daughter of Matthew Tidwell and Elizabeth (Liz) Weiser, is graduating from Columbus Academy, Columbus, Ohio,  where she’s taken numerous AP and honors courses. She has several honorable mentions from Scholastic Art Awards and has designed several Academy’s play posters. She’s participated in choir and theater since middle school. She spent two weeks in Costa Rica studying ecology last summer. She also received her black belt in karate this year. She is planning to attend either Reed, Oberlin, or Beloit next fall (still deciding!)
