“Bringing Light into the Darkness” – A Service of Healing
In the Christmas season of love, light, and joy our heart overflows with gratitude and compassion. However, there are those in our mist who are suffering from an illness or have lost a beloved one. If that is you, please join others at the Winter Solstice Healing Service offered to our community by the Health and Wellness Ministry of St. Luke’s Church. This service will be held on December 21, at 7:00 pm at St. Luke’s Church, 107 E. Broadway, Granville, OH.
This healing service reaches into the heart, mind and emotions to acknowledge pain and asks our Maker to heal our loss and make us whole again. There is meditative time, intercessions and prayers for healing and by lighting candles, bringing healing light into grief, memories, courage and love. If this service speaks to you, please come and invite others in need.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry, an outreach group of Health and Wellness, is a small group of dedicated individuals that gathers on the first and third Thursdays of each month during the program year to create shawls or lap blankets. The group knits and crochets, shares patterns and needlework tips, and offers prayers of comfort and healing for the people of the Parish and those whose lives are linked to ours to make sure that they are not forgotten as they journey through challenging times. Even if you don't have time for another meeting, you are welcome to become part of this group ministry. Questions or further information may be obtained from Janet White or Celeste Nichols.
The Health and Wellness Ministry group has identified a need to acknowledge those among us who work tirelessly and without recognition but make a difference in the lives of those of St. Luke's family and of the wider Granville community. We want to be able to say, "thank you" and "we appreciate the difference you make". To that end, we would like to invite you to nominate someone who you feel is a Minister in our Midst. No bands, no balloons, just a note of thanks from the Health and Wellness group, maybe an angel for his or her pocket to accompany them throughout their day. Nominations may be sent to Courtney Bentley at hello.courtneybentley@gmail.com.
The Health and Wellness Ministry meets quarterly and all are welcome to become involved to help further the mission of improving body, mind, and spirit of all.
