Our particular community

You’ll find St. Luke’s Church actively involved in service and outreach to our community. Parishioners serve in a wide variety of ways in Licking County and in the world beyond our borders.

The Food Pantry Network of Licking County was incubated at St. Luke’s, Welsh Hills School had its first home in one of our buildings, and our parish was one of the first places locally where people could recycle paper, glass and plastics.

Today we support Healing Arts Mission — a clinic and school in Haiti, the Marifiki ministries to children in Africa orphaned by HIV/AIDS, and The Open Door Community for the homeless in Atlanta, as well as many other ways God’s reign is being advanced.

Closer to home, we feed the hungry at the Faith Mission in Columbus and through our donations to the Food Pantry Network. We help provide needed funds for research and support of people with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The annual Granville Turkey Trot to benefit the Food Pantry Network of Licking County and the Great Granville Garage Sale to support The Licking County Coalition for Housing are major community outreach events.

We continue to find ways to seek and serve Christ in all persons, and we take very seriously the vow from our Baptismal Covenant, “Will you respect the dignity of every human being?” In serving others, we claim no superiority. We strive to walk together with others as fellow seekers.

We are a people trying to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, who loved the outcast, healed the hurting, and called us into a way of life that seeks to help us become more trusting, more courageous, and more loving as we grow into the wonderful mystery of our relationship with God and one another.

Come worship with us a few times and see what you think.
